*UPDATE* Your part has been removed from my vehicle, if you want it back it’ll cost you $195.00 as follows. $70.00 fee is what the reputable mechanic charged me to remove your part. $125.00 for the replacement key FOB you destroyed. had my Nissan towed to Choice automotive repair and they performed several unauthorized repairs on my car without even calling me to let me know. They didn’t call me to tell what the problem was… They didn’t call me to tell me how much the repair would cost… They just did all kinds of work on my car WITHOUT my permission, then they stuck me with some huge bill. And when I refused to pay ANY amount for unauthorized work the part owner(female) threw random items from around her office at me. Then she broke my car key FOB right in front of me as she cussed me out, smashed it right on the ground. Needless to say, professionalism is severely lacking here. I mean it’s pretty basic you call the customer to inform them of the repair and cost.
To the future customers that are going to read this before moving on to all of our 5 star reviews….. First week of August, Mr Blanding brings the car in with some issues. We find the battery is dying. But charging system checks out ok. We also find a major oil leak from the valve cover gaskets. This customer has an extended warranty. We get the valve cover gaskets covered under warranty. Call the customer to let them know what is needed. And get approval to replace battery and complete oil leak repairs. Because we were able to get the valve cover gaskets covered, I went ahead and installed the battery without charging labor, also did not charge for the initial testing. Fast forward a few weeks later, car is sitting in the parking lot Monday morning. No info included with keys, no voicemail, no text. I figure out who the vehicle belongs to and proceed to check it out. I knew the vehicle had been here recently. My technician found the alternator failed(probably from being covered in oil due to the oil leak we repaired previously). I was out taking care of some things and told my tech to just move forward with the repair as their extended warranty would cover it(my mistake but figured we’d get a head start and the customer would get their car back sooner). When I return to the office, I call the extended warranty company to find out that the warranty expired 200 miles ago. So I call the customer and explain the situation. I apologize and tell him that I’m willing to work with him on how we can handle the situation. I knock the price down significantly. And he appreciates me getting moving on the car in an effort to get it back to him quickly. He seems to understand the situation. Then says he’ll call me back in a few minutes. Two days later…..customer shows up wanting to pick up the car. Receptionist/co owner of the shop is there by herself. Mr. Blanding accuses us of making repairs without his approval and is going to take his car. Sheila(co owner) says she needs to call me first. Then Mr. Blanding gets confrontational and wants his key. Says he is going to call the police. Sheila then calls me and I said to just give him the keys. Evidently the key did hit the floor during all of this. So in the end, the customer received an alternator replacement for free. Then chose to call the police and leave a bad review on top of it.
